USEFUL INFORMATION

For landlords.

Prepare the property and its records.

Start with what is already on file

Review the existing EPC, gas record and electrical report for the correct property. These documents have different purposes and should not be treated as interchangeable.

Identify the next checks

Note what is due and any findings requiring action. Choose the relevant services or an eligible combination; tell the team about changes to the installation or dwelling.

Make access work for everyone

Confirm who will open the property and which rooms or equipment need access. Inform occupiers about the visit and any testing that may affect the supply.

Keep a complete record

Retain reports and supporting evidence at the right address. A certificate request does not automatically include repairs, remedial work or a new inspection of unrelated systems.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Find the next service.

Explore the work and its booking route.

Choose a service

Turn the information into the next question

Ask what the document tells you and what it leaves unanswered. An energy rating is not an inspection of every building defect. A proposed improvement may need advice about ventilation, moisture, permissions or product suitability before an installer is instructed.
